Chart Visibian in Data Studio
Google Data Studio, called Looker Studio until April 2026, can read your Visibian numbers through our connector. Your charts sit beside the rest of your reporting, and the report’s date control sets the period.
What you need
Before you start, have these 3 things ready:
- A plan with API access: Studio, Growth, or Network.
- An API token. The workspace owner creates one in Settings, under API & MCP access, and it is shown only once.
- A Google account, and a portfolio with finished runs. With no runs, the chart has nothing to show.
Connect it
- Write to [email protected] for the connector link, then open it. The connector is shared by link, not listed in the Data Studio gallery.
- Click Authorize and choose your Google account. Google may warn that it has not verified the app, which is normal for a connector shared by link. Click Advanced, then the link at the bottom that continues to the connector.
- When Data Studio asks for a key, paste your API token. The connector checks it with Visibian before saving it, so a mistyped or expired token is refused straight away.
- Choose a Dataset: the Visibian screen this data source reads.
- Choose a Portfolio by name, or All portfolios.
- Click Connect, then Create report.
What it asks Google forIt asks for 2 permissions: to connect to an outside service, so it can reach Visibian, and to see your email address. It cannot open your Google files, mail, or analytics.
The datasets
Each dataset matches one Visibian screen. A data source reads one dataset, because each screen has different fields. For another screen, open the connector link again and add a second data source to the same report.

Read them the way the dashboard does
- Competitive Intelligence. Add Brand as a dimension or a filter, or the 4 headline figures blend every brand into one. They are worked out from the counts underneath, so they match the dashboard for a day, a model, or the whole period. Fields that start with Helper feed those 4; leave them out of charts.
- Visibility trend. A day with no runs is a gap in the line, not a drop to 0.
- Source Domains, Source Pages, and Top Sources. They have no Date field. They are totals for the report’s date range, and the date control still sets that range.
- Hallucination Watch. It reads up to 200 active flags, critical first, and keeps those whose answer falls inside the report’s dates.
- Ground Truth. Filter on Kind to separate people sent by AI answers from AI services fetching your pages.
Share a report
By default, Data Studio reads a data source with the credentials of the person who added it. People you share the report with see its charts without a Visibian token of their own, so share it as carefully as you would share the dashboard.
Keep it safe
A few facts worth knowing before you connect:
- The connector only reads. It cannot change anything in Visibian.
- Your token is saved for your Google account only. Other people who use the connector cannot see it.
- Your numbers travel from Visibian to Google, where Data Studio draws the report, and Google’s terms cover them there.
- Revoke the token in Settings, and every report that uses it stops getting new data at once.
You can also remove the connector from Data Studio: open Data sources, find the Visibian card, then choose More and Revoke Access.
If something goes wrong

| “Visibian refused that API token” | The token was revoked, the plan ended, or the plan no longer includes API access. Create a new token and enter it when Data Studio asks for the key. |
| “That portfolio is not in the workspace this token belongs to” | The portfolio was deleted, or the token belongs to another workspace. Edit the data source and choose the portfolio again. |
| “Visibian is rate-limiting this connection” | The report asked more than 120 times in a minute. Every chart asks on its own, and All portfolios asks once per portfolio. Wait a minute, then refresh. |
| “Visibian could not be reached” | Try again in a few minutes. If it keeps happening, write to [email protected]. |
| An empty chart | Nothing was collected in those dates. Choose a date range with runs. |
| The connector will not open on a company account | Your Google Workspace admin may have turned off Apps Script or outside connectors. Ask them, or use another Google account. |
| You want another screen in the same data source | A data source keeps its dataset. Add a new data source for the other screen. |
