Counted, not claimed
Sites bump their own dates constantly: a rebuild touches every page without changing a word. Tempo here is measured by comparing our own repeat fetches of the same pages, so a change means the content changed. Sites we have not watched long enough to judge say so instead of guessing.
How to use it
Tempo sets the bar for your own refresh cycle. If the competitors winning your questions update weekly and your key pages last changed in the spring, the Freshness page tells you which of yours to start with.
Daily, deliberatelyThese numbers move over days. Checking hourly would measure our own polling, not their publishing.
